In an ode to the Puglia region of Italy, where their family is from, Christine and Carla Pallotta—sisters of Jim Pallotta, hedge fund honcho and part-owner of the Boston Celtics—created Nebo, a modern North End restaurant and wine bar offering family-style dishes. Among them are hand-rolled pastas that the sisters make in the restaurant’s dough room, using a sanded-down broomstick their father made for them. You’ll find lusty satisfaction in such earthy options as crisp arancini (mozzarella-stuffed rice balls) glistening with chestnut honey; broccoli rabe bruschetta with pine nuts and currants; pappardelle Bolognese; and 30 kinds of pizza. And to welcome everyone into the fold, the sisters also offer a gluten-free menu. 90 N. Washington St., 617-723-6326; neborestaurant.com
