Joslin Diabetes Center hosted its High Hopes Gala on November 19 to promote awareness and raise funds for diabetes clinical care programs and groundbreaking research initiatives. Emceed by Tobias Welo, the event held at the Westin Copley Place raised $1.7 million for research, education and clinical care. American Idol runner-up Crystal Bowersox provided the evening’s musical entertainment along with jazz saxophonist Andrè Ward. Among the 625 people in attendance were Joslin Diabetes Center’s President and CEO John Brooks, Ray and Shannon Allen, and Herb Chambers.
