Young Friends of Save Venice Boston hosted a fundraiser on October 27, 2012 to benefit ongoing restorations at the Church of San Sebastiano in Venice. Nearly 200 masked guests arrived at Yvonne’s Private Club at Locke-Ober to take up the challenge—seduce or be seduced—offered by party cochairs Anne-Marie Eze and Elizabeth Georgantas. Highlights included a boatload of oysters from Island Creek Oysters on the top floor and a club scene with a DJ in the basement. At midnight, Locke-Ober served a sumptuous breakfast buffet. Privateer Rum and Bully Boy Vodka served drinks, and Uber provided black masks for all of the party guests. The event raised more than $30,000, which will be used to restore the frescoes by Renaissance artist Paolo Veronese surrounding the Podocataro Monument in the Church of San Sebastiano.
