Miss Wu shoulder bag ($1,995) and strappy triple platform ($995)
Jason Wu is well beyond the “wunderkind” stage. Since we began following his career (and singing his praises) a few years ago, he’s become one of the most recognizable names in fashion—embraced by the old guard for his fine craftsmanship and retail know-how, while remaining at the cutting edge of style.
In the past year he’s launched a number of projects and collaborations, from eyewear to electronics, culminating in his much-anticipated debut accessories collection. “When I launched my collection a few years ago, I always had a goal to introduce accessories and evolve into a lifestyle brand. The launch of shoes and handbags is a natural extension and compliments the ready-to-wear perfectly,” Wu says. “It completes the vision.”
His accessories are a carefully edited reflection of his aesthetic: ladylike silhouettes in exuberant color. “I wanted to design a collection that combined old Hollywood glamour with the ease of a cool girl,” Wu says. The Miss Wu frame shoulder bag feels modern with its graphic, two-tone palette, while the sexy open-toe platform sandals speak for themselves. Of course, all of the accessories are adorned with Wu’s logo—a discreet owl, as loveable as the designer himself.
