Cue the cuffs with these dazzling garnets.

When it comes to people of note, maestro Thomas Wilkins takes top billing both literally and figuratively. Whether he’s conducting the Boston Pops concerts highlighting Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, and George Gershwin, firing up crowds as the conductor of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra—which he’s done for the past five years—or introducing newcomers to classical music in his role as conductor of BSO’s Youth and Family Concerts, Wilkins’ reputation for elegance with a bit of swagger precedes him. “I’m kind of a cuff link nut,” he says. “When I travel, I carry 12 to 14 sets of studs and cuff links with me.” He doesn’t yet own a set of David Yurman cuff links, but he would love to add this pair of three-quarter-inch garnet and sterling silver stunners from the Naturals Collection to his assortment. “I would probably wear these for a Pops concert or where there are uninitiated audiences,” says Wilkins. “I don’t want them to focus on me, I want them to focus on the music. But if they happen to notice my cuff links, I want them to say, ‘Sweet—I didn’t realize that you guys are actually hip and contemporary.’”
