So far this has been the year of incredible events and partnerships. We celebrated our Spring issue with a party honoring cover star Mena Suvari at Trade, where we toasted the American Reunion beauty with sponsors Stella Artois and Grey Goose. We were also thrilled to sponsor two of the year’s best events—the Ellie Fund’s Oscar Night Boston Gala and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay’s Big Night 2.0 at the House of Blues. We had our first VIP lounge at the Oscars night at the Mandarin Oriental, where the Track Gals held court interviewing local celebrities. The event raised $200,000 to help support women and their families while they are being treated for breast cancer. At Big Night 2.0, the 900-ticket event sold out and guests danced to live performers Raphael Saadiq and the Counting Crows until the wee hours.

Coming up, we’re partnering with Cadillac, Tiffany & Co., Golf Digest/Golf World, Ping, and Greg Norman to sponsor the National Kidney Foundation’s Cadillac Golf Classic on June 12 at the Boston Golf Club. The winning team (as well as second and third finishers) from each local tournament gets to play in the national championship at Pebble Beach Resorts.

We are excited to kick off summer at Smith & Wollensky’s new location at Atlantic Wharf on June 20. Traveling slightly farther afield, we are also looking forward to getting our feet sandy and our palates wet as a sponsor at the Nantucket Wine Festival in May.

We send out hearty congratulations to the team behind Red Lantern and Shrine, who recently opened the new Gem Restaurant & Lounge on Province Street.

Finally, it is with heavy hearts that we note the passing of Donald V. Little, an avid equestrian who was a dear friend and collaborator of the magazine. His presence will be missed here and especially at Myopia Hunt club.
