This might be one of the most exciting weeks of the year for New England Patriots fans with the Super Bowl in Houston just days away, but here’s food news to distract you…OK, and one Tom Brady-themed cocktail to sip on February 5.
The Mushroom Omelette on Juliet's brunch menu.
Easily the best meal of the week, brunch is one part reminder that it’s the weekend, another part permission to drink before noon. Juliet, which has conquered breakfast and fine dining dinner service, is now offering brunch with options like breakfast tacos, oyster stew, a hearty risotto, and a pastry basket we would never pass on. 257 Washington St., 617-718-0958
Greek food is now definitely a trend in Boston as Demetri Tsolakis of Committee opens his first Gre.Co location in the Back Bay on February 7. Think of it as quality Greek food fast with menu items that stay very true to the food Tsolakis remembers as a kid in Greece. Opt for gyros like the Classic Pork and the Classic Chicken (with homemade honey mustard sauce) or make your own, and don’t skip the loukoumades, Greece’s answer to the donut, which they’ll be giving out for free on Wednesday. Gre.Co’s versions are covered in hazelnut sauce, oreos, or simply honey. 225 Newbury St., 617-572-3300
You won’t be able to have a case of the Mondays (more like Mon-daze) with this new offer from chef Michael Serpa at Select Oyster Bar. The seafood whisperer is offering diners a prix fixe menu for just $33 from 4:30-9:30 p.m. Choose from options like Faroe Island Salmon tartare, Maine mussels “a la Normande,” and Peeky Toe Crab Pappardelle. 50 Gloucester St., 857-239-8064
Make it a family dinner every Sunday this winter at The Palm thanks to the restaurants new initiative. Dig into specials like the Palm Classic Combo-a 9 oz. Filet Mignon with a Nova Scotia Lobster Tail or Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. Kids have their own special menu as well that you might want to steal (I mean, mozzarella sticks…). 5-9 p.n. every Sunday. One International Place, 617-867-9292
Kanye West might tell you that he’s the G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time, naturally), but New England Patriots fans know that title belongs to Tom Brady. TAMO Bistro and Bar is offering The G.O.A.T. Mule in honor of Tom Brady and the Super Bowl on Feburary 5 from 11: 30 a.m.-midnight. The cocktail is made with Hotel California Tequila, Stolichnaya Ginger Beer, fresh lime juice, and tears of the Pats opponents. Just joking! One Seaport Lane, 617-385-4304
Shake Shack fans rejoice, the crispy shallots are back for a limited time! The burger brand is launching BBQ in most of its US locations with the BBQ ShackMeister Burger (crispy ShackMesiter Ale-marinated shallots and Shack BBQ Sauce), the BBQ Chick’n Shack, and BBQ Bacon Cheese Fries. Don’t miss the new shake flavors: Mint Cookies & Cream, Mud Pie, and Salted Vanilla Toffee. 234 Newbury St.
